Some of our very own Region 9 Youth members were instrumental in adding 18 to the 14-18 yr age group to Youth Nationals. This is just one example of how our youth have consistently made a mark on the national stage.
Region 9 Youth learn Robert's Rules of Order through participating in organized meetings. The Director represents R9 as an AHYA Board Member. Furthermore, R9 youth attend AHYA Convention as delegates at Youth Nationals. Throughout history, Region 9 is notorious for bringing the most delegates than any other region. Also, Region 9 Youth learn how to present ideas and communicate them to the adult board and delegate base.
Not only do the R9 youth fundraise for youth activities on the local, regional, and national levels; but also organize and donate funds to AHDF, scholarship foundations, Ryan Milendez foundation, and so much more!

Dear Region 9 Members,
We are getting closer and closer to our upcoming show season of 2018, and I could not be more excited for what this year has in store for this community.
I am so excited to be spending my second year in a row serving as the Region 9 Youth Director. We have a lot planned for our Region 9 show in June, along with planning for Youth Nationals in July. Regarding our Youth activities, many AHYA Board Members met in Denver this past November. The theme for Youth Nationals 2018 this year will be Festival of Colors.
The Region 9 Youth Board and I are working on planning the activities to be held during the horse show, but you can look forward to the old favorites like golden horse shoe scavenger hunt and duck toss!
More importantly, we are preparing for the 2018 Youth Exhibitor T-shirts. This is something we do every year, with the help of sponsorships and we are always thankful for the generous people who sponsor us.
At Region 9, we will also hold our regional meeting, to discuss business regarding youth activities from this past year and this upcoming year to better our community. We will also be brainstorming ideas for Youth Nationals and how we will best be able to represent our region on a national level.
I will be traveling to Denver, Co. in March for the annual spring Board of Director's meeting. As both R9 Director and AHYA Vice President, I can't wait to represent you all. If you have anything you would like for me to present please don't hesitate to let me know!
We are excited to be launching this new website, so come here for all your Region 9 info! I hope everyone has a great next few months, and I will see you all at Will Rogers in a few months!
